Event Description and Details:

These lectures start from unveiling the mystery of the Tibetan architectural culture, and showcase the historic origin and cultural background related with the traditional Tibetan culture including the history evolution, religious culture and life customs from the perspective of artistic appreciation of architectural culture. The lectures have also proposed that the traditional Tibetan architectural culture is continuing the ancient five architectural philosophies as long as several thousand years in China, and make analysis and appreciation of the building form, building decoration, building color, and building technology process of the traditional architectural culture of Tibet, which have been highly welcomed by the teachers and students attending the lectures and highly valued by all social sectors, and even become valuable teaching material in the cadre training programs for improving their cultural quality and self-cultivation.

The lecture of Traditional Architectural Culture of Tibet is hosted by Mr. Xu Zongwei with a large amount of true stories he personally witnessed in dozens of counties in Tibet. He gives vivid examples and a plenty of pictures and photos, and with his concise and lively lecture, he makes all participants fully convinced and indulged in the architectural culture of Tibet.

Standing on high mountains and river courses in Tibet, you will see magnificent traditional Tibetan buildings of different ages such as palaces, temples, dwellings and manors, etc. The traditional buildings and architectural culture of Tibet are significant parts of the architectural culture of China. They are essence of material civilization and spiritual civilization, and also historical evidence of the unity and cultural exchange of Tibetan and Chinese nationalities. The research and conservation of the traditional architectural culture of Tibet show respect and protection by the Chinese Government to the ethnic minority culture, demonstrating the pursuit of building harmonious culture of the socialist. 

Outline of the Lecture
The lecture of The Traditional Architectural Culture of Tibet consists of three parts:
a. Part One is about the historical origin and 
     natural culture background of the traditional architectural culture of Tibet;
b. Part Two introduces the ancient and traditional architectural philosophy of Tibet; and
c. Part Three describes the form and style of the traditional Tibetan architecture
